In November 2025, the Protect Our Pitch 206 crew gathered in the CID with community members to host a teach-in about the real impacts of the World Cup and other profit driven major sporting events. Since then, POP206 has put on several smaller community teach-ins throughout Seattle. Below is a copy of the slides used at that first teach-in, while the slides alone don’t capture the full presentation, and there’s no substitute for the community discussions that are had when we gather to learn together, we hope sharing these slides can serve as a starting point and resource for everyone who wants to learn more about how we can think critically about the impact of massive sporting events and how we can always Protect Out Pitch.
